November 3rd to 7th is Autumn-SOKO (Frost falls)-54th KOU “Maple leaves and ivy turn yellow”.
We Japanese go hiking to enjoy the autumn coloring leaves (MOMIJIGARI) on a refreshing autumn day.
Actually I wondered what the autumn leaves would look like this year, because the hot days continued into October. However, the SATOYAMA, that means a small mountain near a rural area, around NAGANO City are already starting to change its color. The mountains are decorated with a colorful landscape of red, yellow, brown and still green.
The weather in NAGANO City today, Nov. 3rd, was sunny and the maximum temperature was up to 24.2 ℃, more than 7℃ higher than normal. It might be a little hot for MOMIJIGSRI hiking.
And again, I wonder what will happen to the autumn leaves at this high temperature. Are plants not so weak?
