December 2nd-6th is Winter-SHOSETSU (lessor snow)-60th KOU “TACHIBANA citrus tree leaves start to turn yellow.”
TACHIBANA is a variety of citrus fruit native to Japan.
Citrus fruits are associated with warm regions. I thought it wouldn’t grow in the HOKUSHIN region. But to my surprise!
I found potted lemon and KINKAN seedlings growing outside. I don’t know the reason but banana trees were planted at the temple (not a citrus fruit, but it’s a warm-place’s plant, so…). There were YUZU seedlings at the gardening store.
Everyone is doing their best in winter in SHINSHU.
