July 7th – July 11th, 2026 is Summer – Start of SHOSHO (lesser heat)-31st KOU “Warm winds blow.”
We have entered the “SHOSHO” season according to the 24 solar terms.
Starting yesterday, I switched to a “summer schedule” and began waking up at 5:00 a.m. The idea was to go for a walk before the heat really set in.
I thought it might be a bit chilly given the early hour, but the air was actually delightful, perfect weather for the season of “warm winds blow.”
Here is the sky just before 6 o’clock.
If the cloud cover stays like this, it looks like ORIHIME (Vega, young lady) and HIKOBOSHI (Altair, young guy) will be able to meet. This is the legendary story of TANABATA (the Japanese star festival), today on July 7th is the only day in the year when the two star-crossed lovers are allowed to cross the Milky way to meet each other.
