July 28th – August 1st, 2025 is Summer – Middle of TAISHO (greater heat)-35th KOU “Earth is damp, air is humid.”
Including the period just before the end of the rainy season on July 21st, it didn’t rain at all for almost a week. I watered the vegetables in my home garden many times, hoping for at least a little rain.
And finally, yesterday and the day before, the long-awaited rain came. However, it was a torrential downpour like a tropical squall, and the next day it rained lightly all day, as if the rainy season had returned. Perhaps this is typical weather for this time of year, as we transition into full-fledged summer.
This morning, the familiar mountain range looked hazy.
The explanation on the website said, “The main cause is Mie scattering, which occurs when extremely fine water droplets (moisture-absorbing particles attached to aerosols) or fine atmospheric particles (PM, sulfates, organic particles, etc.) absorb moisture and become larger in humid air.”
Hmm… This is just “Earth is damp, air is humid” as the 35th KOU is telling.
A swarm of red dragonflies was flitting around me. Many were still yellowish. Through coming true summer and approaching to autumn, they will change into the “familiar” red dragonflies.
