August 2nd – August 6th, 2026 is NATSU (Summer) – TAISHO (Greater heat)-36th KOU “Great rains sometimes fall.”
August is here. we are in the final phase of TAISHO, summer is now into full swing, though.
When one thinks of summer rain, the YUDACHI —a sudden, heavy afternoon downpour— comes to mind. Although the rain falls violently, it stops quickly, leaving the air feeling cool and truly pleasant.
It’s much like a large-scale version of UCHIMIZU (the traditional custom of sprinkling water on the ground to cool it down).
