“SHICHIJYUUNI-KOU” is the name of the seventy (SHICHIJYUU) two (NI)-microseasons (KOU) that are expressed in short sentences about dedicate transitions of the seasons relating to weather, flora, fauna and human life. The year is divided into 72 microseasons approximately every 5 days and expressed such as 4 Seasons(Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter)-24 SEKKI(Major divisions)-72KOU(microseaons) like HARU(Spring)-RISSHUN(Beginning of spring)-1st KOU (East wind melts the ice).

As it is based on the lunisolar calendar, some events may be rarely seen in our daily lives, but most of them convey “signs” of the seasonal transitioning and make us feel the delicate transition of the seasons.
